been gone awhile i just got a new pc and cool edit 2.1 but when i plug my mic in i can record ne thing whats up with that

couldnt tell ya. thats a vague problem. check the tutorials in the sticky thread and the cool edit manual.

Uhhhhh, did you go to audio controls and make sure there was a check where it says "microphone" first............
