They did a good job of humanizing Shannon.
Also, it seems that Ana might not be the one who shot Shannon.
Looks like it was, though...
She said earlier in the show..."you think one bullet's gonna stop the others"
One bullet...is all she had left in the beretta.
At the end, when Shannon's laying there dying, Sayid holding her...
You see Ana holding the gun in combat position...
And the slide is back on the gun...like what'd happen if you fired an automatic with only one round left...the slide would stay back.
She definitely fired her gun. I don't see how she COULDN'T have hit her.
