I'll almost guaranteed need an extension. My good friend is graduating tomorrow, so I'll be doing a lot of festivities surrounding that for most of the day.

Competing With Light
some call it a life...to me its the next fall til I rise
perpetual halls of the trifle for the solemnly sized
across in the skies taunting, an impossible sight
blocks of positive cries resounding in a cauldron of light
driven mad in the past by my attempts to follow inside
only to collapse in the path hollowed by Apollo in stride
perched in curvature, herded from impervious oceans
where any forward movement warps to circular motion
I tried hurting it, and learned I was a worthless opponent
so I begged, unheard and further cursed from the coaxin'
surgically I searched for seams for any cursive it's cloaked in
but there's no purse I can hold that will lure it to open
I wander without refrain, nose pressed to the glass
following the grooves of failures that I etched in the past
the distant beacon stays afloat how I remembered it last
mocking me with it's glow forever 'til the ember is black
I move quickly but regress to a directionless path
slow down to find my way I'll never get to the mass
I yearn for it to strip me of my useless attire
but my movement is mired, causing me to mutely admire
I know I'll never get to learn the truth of the fire
banished as a satellite, bound by futile desire
