it became the biggest sport in the world because its dirt cheap to play all you need is a grassy area a net(which you can make out of scrap plastic tubes and old fish nets) and cleats, and sin guards while other sports like football need a grassy field, a huge ass goal post, hellmets with facemask, shoulderpads(which cost more than all the things i mentioned for soccer), butt pads,thighpads, knee, pads, cleats and than all the other things for safety precautions, visors(too look cool), neck roll horse collars, the the rib protector thing the queaterbacks wear, and back plates, footballs an expensive sport thats why poor latin countries play soccer instead
