addict
addiction everyones personal confliction
its different inside this circle of affliction
worthless and hurting in a permanent condition
a sickness so listen intently to earnest intentions
and learn with forgiveness these burning convictions
nervously printing the urge to kick this habit
stab it before the insanity becomes automatic
you hand in your courage for worries and madness
until planted in dirt or buried in sadness
damning the earth no concern of his actions
slammed by this curse of infurious passion
he flirts with his death in luxurious fashion

Re: addict
Honestly... I feel addiction is a personality trait more then a substance but the worst I ever did was sniff yay but I smoke cigs too. I was addicted to gambling, when I’d get stressed I used to go to the casino and just think (so much my boy used to call me Ginger). I just got over it... like struggling myself with alcohol lately and it’s the habit not substance that is fucking me up. I was mandated to AA when I was 14 being an at risk youth and was sober most of my life but grateful I remember those stories so I saw when warning signs were to come and I can curb it. Once you have your mind set... you can do anything (will is a powerful conquerer). Best wishes and I feel you... I’m struggling myself too

Re: addict
Tight but short. I liked your choice of vocab and the rhythm of the whole piece. Although the imagery was vague I caught the frustration of the narrator:
"you hand in your courage for worries and madness
until planted in dirt or buried in sadness"
Great lines. It's always good to see people taking on a topic away from the norm and this didn't disappoint. Keep on posting. This forum needs a resurrection.
