The Requiem of the N Word




Born out of torture, enslavement, abuse
The whip of a cracker or the klansmen's noose
Here lies a sub-human, three fifths of a man
In the original Constitution, you understand
Raised by an enemy...ignorant and dumb
Economically oppressed by a Eurocentric thumb
Amounting to nothing ever since birth
Representing the most despised people on earth
Displaced, dispossessed, economically weak
Stolen from Africa, no language to speak
No country, no government, having no flag
No National identity about which to brag
The weight of a hatred that black people bore
Surviving the Depression and centuries of War
Strangling a people who know they are more
Placed in this casket in full rigor and gore
Supremacy flew high and free as a bird
But we shot it down and buried this word
We've been tortured by the N word, hundreds of years
Now its deep in this hole...no flowers, no tears
Knowing its history, born thru hatred and abusiveness
Im going to stop and hope other will stop using it
