Original Props: A Revolution In Hip-Hop


A half polished bottle of absinthe sits next to it's demolished
host, who's craft is to throttle an absent image, long abolished
by most, who draft in bottles & bask in ads sent over airwaves
post TV era, where air raids on Xbox raise kids like stairways
the next flock pre-programmed by gamestop, where warriors
& bad cops, tackle drug lords & terror plots, where spoilers
& pit stops, shackle young hordes & 4ever rot, collective minds
w/ infective lines coded to reflect the times! So I object in rhyme
& inject sublime thoughts molded to correct 4 crimes, in respect
to minds lost, & connect with fine imagery, designed to project
off words tossed, I elect to spine symmetry, enshrined in hip-hop
entwined by dope knots and tied to the fabric I weave, to sleeve
the beast dropped, conceived in ink blots, achieved thru chief 'd
crops, released on creased pages of text, a feast of greased
feathers staged next, to complex spools & ink-jets, I bleed facts
on 'the land of the lost' like 'Sleestaks' gutted by 'pakuni' packs
to bring back the old school & breath back the visions, in fact
to a time before mainstream went wack, my main scheme intact
w/ X-ACTO Blade tact, I act on the absinthe attack w/ killer lines
housed on internal rhymes, and extract an image so defined
inclined to fracture your frame of thought & shake the foundation
in which you were taught, with an onslaught of original 'props'
I'm talking, fresh sneakers & backpacks w/ the pen that I brought
not talking a pendant or watch! so mutha fuck a bling on my watch
I string a meaning in taunts to flaunt the artistry streaming in fonts
that leave a crowd screaming in want, an energy beaming in jaunts
like vibrant trips, where you long to kiss souls w/ Aunt Jemima lips
where syrups flow from twisted trees, & the bliss that be, persists
w/ ease, by embers sparked right besides a mist of fiery dreams
I exist only to assist in shifts of power or politics deemed coward
the revolutionary hour before the battles won face to face w/ Babylon
against all odds I prevail & hail God, for the strength to carry on
my back, the weight of some failed wax, where the message's
scaled back, & content is known to lack, but I stand firm underground
as the revolution of hip-hop, a conscious music observed to level
playing fields and preserve our culture from industry slave-bots..
..so fuck a mainstream, I'm rocking them fake clowns..

Ok dude, this was a real powerful peice, and as usual I loved it. It was as close to perfect as there can possibly be. I loved the storyline and the multies were amazing, you always seem to produce top quality work. Even when you come weak, it's still dope as fuck :mad: lol but yea dude this was a great peice I really enjoyed reading it, I have read it about five times lol not because it was particuarly hard to understand or anything, but because it's a great read, and I appreciate a great read. Really good job dude, this shit was dopeasfuck and stuff. :boobies:

I liked this also. real dope meanin. the vocabulary was extremel dope. the overall structure stayed even throughout the entire piece which i find is not oftenly found in pieces. the rhymin in this was tight and consisten through the whole piece. I noticed the choice of groups on the bottom, tight choices haha. but anyway the complexity in this was again tight, could have been elevated to perfect it but it was still tight. I dont think this could be an audio piece cause some of the syllables in the lines wouldnt really flow that well over a beat. unlesss you can prove me wrong i will shut up. but yea. overall this piece was overly dope and im thinkin about a second read. out of ten this is about a 20.

Fuckin' a bounce.. This was niiiice. Lovin' the rhyme scheme, very elaborate. Slam poetry came to mind alot as I read this... Reminded me of like some Pharaohe monch spoken word.. Shit was sick.. Damn good job, man.. Damn good.

everything I write is for audio, so yeah it works, and I can spit upwords of 20 syllables a musical meaure in most cases. Thanks for the reply, peep my audios and you'll see why I can spit that on a beat...

Damn, Bounce, see, now the reason I loved this is because it's a lot like how I kind of feel about the whole rap scene right now, and your internal rhyme schemes are phenomenal, just all around dope as hell. I write the same way as you do, man, and I really enjoy the way you structured this piece rhythmically, its the kind of flow that I really like. I have no problems with the piece at all, my only qualm is that you shoulda chose a font maybe, like, 1 or 2 smaller, that way the lines would have fit a little better and not be carrying on so much, it strains the eyes with the little one word lines cuz of the text wrap.

Anyways, stellar piece, read kind of like a freestyle to me which is perfect, keep up the good work.

Thanks for taKING the time.. Oh and by the way, about the font size issue and text wrap around, that is not on my end, I format all my peices to tahoma size 2. If you are having issues, it's the way you display text on YOUR screen, not the way I format my rhymes. Trust me, just resize for your screen by holding contrtol down and scrolling up or down on your mouses scroll wheel. Just a trick to use as needed, when I post my format is perfect for my screen, and 99 times out of a hindred everyone else too. Once in a while I get peopel with the same issue and have to relay them this info too.

So I saw the title and just because it was by you I knew it was gonna be dope, but I didn't think I was gonna like it. I'm more into you're bloody and horror story type OM's and stuff along that line that you're usually dropping. But as I assumed before I read it, this was dope and really grabbed my attention. The rhyme scheme was extremely dope, the multis and internal rhyme were so on point you'd think you sharpened this piece before you dropped it. You never strayed away from the meaning you were trying to portray the whole time. This is a very relevant piece especially in the state of time we are in right now, and I feel you grasped it completely. You didn't overdue it on vocabulary which seems most people try to do with their pieces but you still kept it on a higher standered than the people who say huge words but have no clue on it's meaning. The strucure was very unique and something a like to see, not just stopping you're sentence at the end of the line but to continue it in the next line. That made it flow really well, almost as if it was for audio but I don't know if you could spit that many syllables and words. Anyway extremely great piece, I read all you're work but usually don't post feed because I go on ranting on how much I liked it. But yea keep em' droppin, and write some haunting type shit for you're next piece :o

^Holy shit. Not only did you touch upon hip hop. . .you even touched upon African American History (what you kids know about Aunt Jemima. .the truth, at least). The way you told this story . .you made it look so easy. Packed full of savvy rhymes with incredible imagery. . you portrayed a very delicate, but upbringing image of Hip Hop revolutionary wise. Your vocabulary was profound, and your internals were sick. See, I like reading interesting stories. And this was very interesting. The unique structure made this a lot better also. It was very audio-driven and fulfilled. As the story progressed, it brought up your intensity. That's why I liked this piece so much Mr. Bounce. Good shit my man.
